Behind the Brand
About the Owner
Madi Hunter

I’ve spent over two decades immersed in the equestrian world. I’ve been the barn manager overthinking every detail, the groom covered in sweat, shavings, and hay at the end of a long show weekend, the proud coach watching and cheering from the sidelines, the student who cries happy tears when they finally nail the correct number of strides on that tricky line. And most importantly, I’m still the girl whose eyes light up and whose stomach flips in excitement when I pull into the driveway of the barn.
When a career ending injury forced me to shift away from riding full time, I chose to stay connected to this world through storytelling. Today, I’m helping equestrians like you shine through photography, marketing, and behind the scenes support.
When you choose to work with me through Heart Horse Media, you’re not just hiring a creative, you’re partnering with someone who has been in your boots before. I know how hard it can be to juggle riding, clients, and the endless to-do list that comes with running a business that doesn’t fit into the nine to five box.
Every equestrian has a story worth telling. I bring my years of experience living and breathing in this world to help you share yours with care and intention. Together, we can create something that reflects your passion, your dedication, and the connections that make it all so meaningful.
The Heart Horse
Jack Sparrow

“Oh, what a gift to have known a horse that changed your life.”
Jack Sparrow was my once in a lifetime horse, my four-legged soulmate, the steady shoulder for me to cry on, the wings I needed to fly. He was silly, soft, strong, quirky, and loyal.
He loved his ‘Mrs. Pastures’ treats so much that he had his own labeled bucket, he was known for blowing bubbles after receiving a peppermint, his steady stride was ideal for galloping beside rows of corn in the summertime, and his dislike for butterflies and of being clipped in the winter months was strong.

He was a beloved lesson horse when needed, helped me to start my first business, gave countless riders confidence out on cross country, could be handled by non-horsey friends, never turned down a lazy day, and was always a barn staff favorite.
Jack found me at the time in my life when I needed him most. What I first saw was an average-height, bay gelding with minimal chrome that would likely only ever jump crossrails. The horse that stayed by my side for 5 years, and who will stay in my heart forever, was the one with a larger than life personality, who made me feel safe enough to be myself, and to believe in myself.
The trail rides, the early mornings, the middle-of-the-nights, the cookies, the hugs, the long gallops, the river wading, the sunset strolls, the heartbreaks, the triumphs, the business wins, the friendship losses, the injuries, the recoveries…
I won’t ever be able to thank Jack Sparrow enough for quietly walking into my heart and taking up residence. He is the kindest friend I have ever known, and I am luckier than I ever could have imagined that I got to be the one he called home.
